Rental terms

Applicable to bookings made on this website from 7 October 2026

This translation is provided for information only. The French version is the only legally binding one.

1. Purpose

These terms govern the holiday rental of Gîte Le Fournil des Vosges, a furnished detached house at 1b à Voitimont, 88460 Docelles, France, booked directly on this website. The house is let as a temporary holiday residence only; any professional or commercial activity is excluded.

2. Booking

The booking is confirmed once the deposit (or full amount, as applicable) has been paid and these terms accepted. A confirmation email sets out the stay, the amounts and the payment schedule.

Under article L. 221-28 of the French Consumer Code, there is no right of withdrawal for accommodation services provided on a specific date.

3. Price

The price includes the rental of the gîte for the nights booked, access to the whole house, terrace and garden, all amenities, and the cleaning and linen fee (beds made on arrival, towels, final cleaning).

The tourist tax, due for each adult, is collected for the Communauté de communes de Bruyères-Vallons des Vosges and shown separately.

The price is the one shown at the time of booking and cannot be changed afterwards.

4. Payment

A deposit of 30% of the total is paid by card when booking. The balance is charged automatically to the same card 30 days before arrival; by booking, the guest authorises this payment. For bookings made less than 30 days before arrival, the full amount is paid when booking.

If the balance payment fails, the guest receives a payment link by email. If the balance is not paid before arrival, the owner may treat the booking as cancelled by the guest (article 6).

5. Security deposit

No security deposit is required. The guest remains liable for any damage caused during the stay (article 9).

6. Cancellation by the guest

Cancellations must be sent by email to gite.fournil.vosges@gmail.com and take effect on the date of receipt. Amounts paid are refunded:

  • in full for cancellations 30 days or more before arrival;
  • 50% for cancellations 7 to 29 days before arrival;
  • no refund for cancellations less than 7 days before arrival, or in case of no-show.

7. Cancellation by the owner

If the owner has to cancel the booking, the guest is informed by email without delay and refunded in full.

8. Arrival, departure and capacity

Check-in is from 5 pm, on your own with a secure key box whose code is sent a few days before the stay. Check-out is by 11 am.

The gîte sleeps up to 6 guests, babies included: 2 bedrooms (one double bed, two single beds) and a double sofa bed in the living room. The number of guests may not exceed the number booked without the owner’s agreement.

Pets are welcome, under the responsibility of their owners, who keep the premises clean.

9. Use of the premises

The guest undertakes to:

  • use the premises peacefully and for their intended purpose, without moving furniture or fittings;
  • not sublet or transfer the rental, even free of charge, without the owner’s written consent;
  • avoid any noise or behaviour that may disturb the neighbours;
  • not throw anything into sinks, showers or toilets that could block the pipes;
  • report any damage to the house, furniture or equipment as soon as possible, and any complaint about the facilities within 48 hours of arrival;
  • allow the owner or their representative to carry out urgent repairs during the stay, with no reduction of the rent;
  • follow the house rules in the welcome booklet;
  • leave the house tidy and in good condition at the end of the stay.

10. Insurance

The guest must be insured against rental risks (fire, water damage, theft, third-party liability), through a home insurance policy covering holiday stays or a specific policy for the duration of the stay.

11. Inventory

An inventory is provided in the welcome booklet. It may be disputed within 24 hours of arrival; otherwise it is deemed accepted. If the owner raises no claim within 48 hours of departure, the house is deemed returned in good condition. Damaged or missing items may be charged at replacement value; repairs required through negligence are at the guest’s expense.

12. Personal data and disputes

Data provided when booking is processed as described on the Privacy page.

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties will first seek an amicable solution.
